Garden Assistant Volunteer (for experienced gardeners)

Leading a group of our adult volunteers in various gardening tasks e.g. pruning, bulb planting, veg growing. 

Responsibilities include teaching and supporting a small group of participants to engage in garden activities, some of whom may have additional needs. Contributing and adhering to risk assessments and managing the health and safety of the group

Adult Wellbeing Volunteer 

Volunteering at our adult sessions 

(Growing Together, Gardening for Dementia, Woodland Wellbeing)  

Responsibilities include supporting staff to set up and run the sessions, supporting participants to engage in activities and to work with and interact with others.

Play & Youth Work Volunteer 

Volunteering at our youth group sessions 

(Nature Rangers 6-9, Adventure Rangers 10-13, Nightshades 13-18, Early Explorers pre-school children and their families, Art & Music Garden support children and their families to access outdoor art, music and movement, especially inclusive of children with disabilities)  

Responsibilities include supporting staff to set up and run the sessions, supporting participants to engage in activities and to work with and interact with others.

Education Volunteer

Sticky Business Volunteer 

Learn about making preserves from seed to jar and help to produce our delicious preserves using seasonal produce from the garden. You can also volunteer as part of our sales team selling preserves and plants at various markets.

Responsibilities Preparing produce, cooking, jarring, labelling of preserves. Stock taking and support with sales.

Canny Plants Nursery Volunteer 

Join our experienced growing team in our glasshouses and polytunnels, learn to grow a huge range of perennial pollinator friendly plants.

Responsibilities include supporting staff with: watering, propagating plants, potting on, support at sales events.

Events Volunteer 

Volunteering with our seasonal fun days, this could include volunteering with preparation for the event and/or at the event.

(4 large scale events per year spring/summer/autumn/winter)  

Responsibilities include supporting staff to set up, clear up and run the event. Roles include: serving food and drinks, helping to run an activity on a stall, selling plants, singing and more.
