Gardening for Dementia

Free, therapeutic sessions for people living with dementia and the wonderful people that take care of them held in our beautiful accessible gardening space. With funding from the People’s Health Trust using money raised by Health Lottery North East and Cumbria, we are providing a safe place for participants to build strong social connections and have a voice about the activities that they want to be involved in.

Sessions are held at the garden monthly while it is cold on the following dates:

21st January 1.30pm-3.30pm

18th February 1.30pm-3.30pm

17th March 1.30pm-3.30pm

From April the sessions are held every week and we will do more gardening as it warms up. We're looking forward to inviting a new group of people to our beautiful garden to get their hands dirty, enjoy cups of tea outside, watch the wildlife and help to make our accessible garden thrive!

7th April 1.30pm-3.30pm weekly until 29th September 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Sessions will still go ahead in bad weather – there are indoor facilities available and always a wet day contingency plan!
