|
|---|
‍Welcome, Welcome! A beautiful children’s book created by our Early Explorers group to celebrate 30 years of Scotswood Garden. Full of nature-inspired reflections, art and imagination, it’s a joyful celebration of how children and grown ups connect with the garden through the seasons. It will be available to order from our Sticky Business sumup page (see above) from next Monday. It would make a great present! |

‍Celebrating Scotswood Garden: 30 stories for 30 years Launching in December this book shares 30 stories from 26 people and 4 non-human residents who have all shaped Scotswood Garden in different ways. These stories aren’t just beautiful or important; they also tell the story of a garden that belongs to everyone.???? More information about the book launch coming soon. |

| ‍???? Young Volunteers Residential - Castle of Park During Youth Work Week, we took time to thank our young people for the energy and care they give to our community. Supported by The Landmark Trust and the Rotary Club of Newcastle, the group enjoyed training, planning for future events, all in the fantastic setting of Castle of Park. |

|
| ‍???? Garden Highlights - Himalayan Blue Poppies This year our extremely talented Garden team grew 120 Meconopsis (Himalayan Blue Poppies) from seed, with a 100% success rate! These notoriously tricky plants are being donated to National Garden Scheme owners as a thank you for their support.???? |
|
|---|
| ‍???? Nature Connection & Wellbeing As the year draws to a close, life can feel especially busy and stressful with festive preparations, deadlines, and the rush of winter. That’s why it’s more important than ever to pause and reconnect with nature. Try a “five‑minute nature pause”: step outside, notice the colours of the leaves, listen for birdsong, or simply breathe in the crisp air. These small, snack‑sized moments of noticing nature can ease stress, restore calm, and remind us of the beauty all around. |
|
|---|
| ‍????️ Building Update We’re excited to report that our building extension is on track to complete in December - what a Christmas present! Next comes the living roof, landscaping, and planting. We’re also looking for skilled volunteers to help create our new “backyard hangout” with paving, raised beds, and lighting. Do get in touch if you can help - thank you. |
| ‍???? Support Scotswood Garden .2025 represents our 30th year of providing a range of education, support, training, health and wellbeing services from our stunning natural, wild site for people aged 0-90.
As a charity, we need to fundraise every year to cover our running costs. We raise funds through selling produce from the garden, providing professional training, applying for grants and through donations from a range of organisations and individuals. Â Everything we raise goes towards maintaining the garden and providing our nature based activities to help people improve their health and wellbeing or gain new skills, qualifications and experience.
You can support us by donating here: https://localgiving.org/charity/scotswoodgarden‍ ‍Thank you Â
Wishing you all a peaceful holiday and the very best for 2026. Thank you for your continued support.
