Dear Supporter,
Yes, it's time for another open day! Apple Day at Scotswood Garden is all set for Saturday 12th October. We do hope you can make it.
Free tickets will be released on Eventbrite this Sunday (29th September) at 10am. The event won't be visible on Eventbrite until then. Please book early, as many of you know, our events tend to sell out very quickly.
Tickets remain FREE. We only ask that you cancel your tickets in Eventbrite if you later find that you can no longer attend - thank you.
Apple Day promises to be another great event. Here are some of the activities:
- Press our home grown apples and sample the juice.
- Buy some apple juice to take home.
- Learn more about hedgehogs and hibernation through a trail around the garden.
- Browse the lovely crafts, handmade by our older women's group.
- Sample the gorgeous apple pancakes, cooked on the fire.
- Build a catapult with the wonderful scientists from NUstem at Northumbria University.
- Buy second hand books, jigsaws etc. to support our Youth groups.
- Meet our hens.
- Do some apple printing!
- Play games organised by our Youth groups.
- Make a cute hedgehog out of clay.
- Enjoy the autumn beauty of Scotswood Garden.
- Find out more about the Species Survival Fund from our Urban Green colleagues.
If you need a quiet and relaxed slot (for people who find crowds a challenge) please email rosie@sncg.org.uk and we'll sort out some tickets for you. These slots are not open for public booking.
Thanks in advance for all your support. We look forward to meeting you on Saturday 12th October.
Best wishes
The Staff and Volunteers of Scotswood Garden
